Sick Prisoner Asks for Help

Sick prisoner Ioane Menapire addresses the Human Right Center for help. The prisoner called and stated that it has been three months now he is in the #6 prison cell. He is infected with fungus, has a rupture and is troubled with liver problems.

“Nobody pays me attention. I am in pain and troubled with hemorrhage. I have not received any medical treatment. When we ask for doctor’s help, they transfer us to the punishment cell. This is what happened yesterday again. When we called the doctor, the security supervisor Joni put one of us in the punishment cell,” – stated prisoner.

According to him, many prisoners are in the similar situation. Two have gone on the hunger strike as a form of protest.

As nobody helped him, he addressed the public defender with an open letter, Ioane Menapire states. He received no assistance as a result: “I have not received medical treatment. They say that I should ask public defender for help.”

51-year-old Ioane Menapire is in the #6 prison cell. He addressed the Human Rights Center for help on March 1st.
