Knesset Speaker Asks Davit Bakradze to Delay his Visit to Israel

March 11, 2011

Knesset Speaker Reuven Rivlin asked his Georgian counterpart, David Bakradze, to delay his visit to Israel – scheduled for next week – to a later date, reports news agency ynetsnews.com.

Rivlin explained that the request is a product of internal and external political circumstances, and that they relate in part to Israeli businessmen jailed in Georgia.

Israeli businessmen Rony Fuchs and Ze'ev Frankel were detained in October of 2010. They are accused of taking a bribe.

According to ynetnews.com, Georgian Parliament restrains from commenting on the corresponding information.

As the head of Georgian Parliament Press Service Maka Gigauri stated to interpressnews, she will later double-check this information to Davit Bakradze.
