Siprashvili Family of Seven Members Refused to be Given Energo and Food Vouchers

Siprashvili family of seven members living in Sighnaghi region of the village Anaga were not given energo or food vouchers. The mother of family assumes that the social service agency punishes her for the incident occurred several days ago when she did not let the representatives of agency to take away her children and addressed the journalists for help.

“We have electricity, accordingly we deserved energo vouchers. But they did not give us. When they also refused to give us food vouchers, we called Sighnaghi department of Social Service Agency, but they did not respond,” – stated Maia Siprashvili to Kakheti Information Center.

The head of Sighnaghi department of social service agency Zurab Zurabashvili refused to respond to calls of Kakheti Information Center. The head of Kakheti Coordinating Center of the agency Levan Akhalauri stated that he does not have information on the corresponding.

Mother of family addressed the NGO Civil Activism Center which is advocating for the people beyong the line of poverty in Kakheti by the support of East-West Management Institute. According to the representative of the organization Marine Zardiashvili, they had already requested the information why Siprashvili family did not receive vouchers.

Siprashvili family is extremely poor. The only help they get is social assistance.
