Switzerland Grants Political Asylum to Soso Jandieri, Detained during 7 November Rally– Nana Kakabadze

April 6, 2011

Nana Kakabadze, head of the Former Political Prisoners for Human Rights, says Switzerland has granted political asylum to Soso Jandieri, a person detained during the  7 November (2007) protest rally .

According to Nana Kakabadze, Jandieri spent 2 years and one month in prison without any legal ground. He appealed to Switzerland for political asylum as a political prisoner and the Swiss government satisfied her request.

Soso Jandieri was not a member of any political party or organization. He was just participating in 2007 November protests against injustice, during which he was arbitrarily detained, Kakabadze said.
