Falsified Witnesses –A new documentary about political prisoner

On April 13, Wednesday, 3:00 pm the video-studio of the Human Rights Center HRIDC.TV presents a new documentary “Falsified Witnesses” at the Cinema House in Tbilisi.

The film is about the former high-ranking official of the Border Police of Georgia Mamuka Shengelia who became the victim of the anti-opposition campaign before the mass protest rallies started in spring of 2009. He was detained for the purchase and possession of the particularly large amount of illegal firearms and narcotic substances on March 23, 2009. Several organizations declared him to be a political prisoner; Georgian court sentenced him to imprisonment for 7 years and imposed fine of 3 000 GEL in addition.

The Film will be screened in Georgian language. The English text of the film and the film with English synchrony will be handed out for the English-speaker spectators.
