Georgia Ranks 8th Defense Budget Spender

Georgia ranks 8th defense budget spender in the world, Newsland informs based on SIPRI 2010 report.

Russian news agency Newsland states that USA tops the list of military spending of total amount of state budget. China is on the second place, followed by UK, France and Russia.

World military spending reached $1.6 trillion in 2010 according to SIPRI.

According to the document, the money spent on the military in 2010 exceeds that of 2009 by 1.3%. However, it is a lot less than the money spend earlier. Experts explain the reduction of military spending by financial crisis.

SIPRI is an independent international institute dedicated to research into conflict, armaments, arms control and disarmament.
