April 27, 2011

According to Kakheti Information Center, in one of the villages of Gurjaani Region 63-year-old Tsismar R-shvili has been beaten by her husband and son and then thrown from the second floor of the house. The victim is placed in the regional hospital of Gurjaani with the fracture of the thigh bone and is being prepared for the surgery.

According to the neighbors of the victim, the husband and son of Tsismar R-shvili were both drunk during the incident. According to neighbors, it is not the first time of family violence.

“This lady was beaten every day. Her son was tried by the court before, but nothing helped. They beat her with everything they had. This poor lady was always standing on the road and asking the patrol police for help. Then the patrol police stopped to stop the car. She addressed the Gurjaani police as well, but they did not pay her attention. Two days ago she was thrown from the second floor of the house,” – stated the neighbors.

The victim denies the fact of violence. She states that she fell in the yard at night. According to neighbors, she is intimidated: “Her husband and son threatened her that they would kill her if she gave testimony to the police.”

Criminal Case has not been filed in Gurjaani police department on the corresponding fact.
