Parents of Deceased Prisoner Blame Head of Rustavi #6 Prison Security Service in the Death of Their Son

The parents of 26-year-old deceased prisoner Kakha Tedliashvili blame the head of Rustavi #6 Prison Security Service in the death of their son. The correspondent of interpressnews visited Karaleti and spoke with the relatives and parents of the deceased.

As the mother of Kakha Tedliashvili, Ineza Tedliashvili noted, the body of the deceased has signs of severe beating. Particularly, her hand is broken, eye is bruised. There is a sign of suffocation. According to her, Kakha Tedliashvili would not have killed himself.

The father of the deceased Badri Tedliashvili states that three weeks before his death, the prisoner sent a letter to the public defender, the head of human rights committee of Parliament Lasha Tordia, Georgian Young Lawyers Association, Minister of Justice Zurab Adeishvili and the chief prosecutor Murtaz Zodelava where he stated that he had problems in the prison and the death threats were made against him.

Badri Tedliashvili states that the head of #6 security service, Ivanishvili forced his son to become his spy or else he would be killed. Tedliashvili refused to do so and he had problems during the last year as a result. The pressure against him especially intensified for the last three months.

According to Badri Tedliashvili, his son was often beaten when he visited him or he was refused to see him.

Kakha Tedliashvili was imposed 13-year imprisonment for the drug abuse. He had left 10 years to serve.

The family members of the deceased prisoner state that Kakha Tedliashvili was arrested illegitimately. According to the allegations of his family members, one of the local high officials had personal interests towardshim.

Kakha Tedliashvili was found hung in the #6 prison. According to the official version, he committed suicide.
