Hot Lines of Opposition Factions of Tbilisi City Council

Free Democrats launched a hot line regarding the events of May 26th. As the Free Democrat members of the City Council Zurab Abashidze and Viktor Dolidze stated at today’s press conference, it is possible to get information on the detained and disappeared persons on the following numbers: 99-65-70; 93-36-70.

Zurab Abashidze noted that 48 people are still considered to be disappeared. He called on the Ministry of Internal Affairs to issue information on the location of the disappeared people.

Viktor Dolidze noted that the Minister of Health Andria Urushadze still has not provided information on the people injured on May 26th. He recalled the events of April 9th and noted that the Minister of Health of that time informed the public on the health state of injured people in every hour and was brave to state that on April 9th part of the injured were poisoned by gas.

Christian-Democrats also opened a hot line regarding the events of May 26th in the City Council – 93-62-86.

The Christian-Democrat member of City Council Zaza Gabunia requests the special session to be held by the Human Rights Commission. According to the deputy, the Commission has not reacted on the May 26th events yet.

According to him, the Human Rights Commission should hold a special session where the representatives of various institutions and organizations will present the information. The sufferers will also take part in the session of commission. Zaza Gabunia also requests that the private belongings, including cell-phones are given back to the released individuals.
