Resident of Vedzatkhevi Village In a Need of Urgent Medical Care

June 7, 2011

52-year old Ioseb Kapiashvili from the village Vedzakhevi of Dusheti region needs urgent medical help. The village is isolated from the outside word as a result of the flooding rains. The patient cannot be transferred to the hospital due to this reason.

As the resident of the village Vedzatskhevi Tamar Inashvili stated to Mtskheta-Mtianeti Information Center, the Governor Lasha Janashvili called her and promised that the ambulance would enter the village and transfer the patient to the stationary as soon as the water level lowers.

“Two days ago it stopped raining and the water level has lowered, but nobody pays attention. The patient is sick. He needs doctor. His health state gets worse every day. We have no medicines here,”- noted Tamar Inashvili.

There are 18 families living in the village Vedzatskhevi. The village is in the landslide risk zone. The auto way got destroyed by the landslide 5 years ago. The only path to the village passes through Vedza valley. The flooded river blocked this path as well.
