Giorgi Kanashvili Disappeared after the May 26th Protest Disruption

June 13, 2011

Nobody has seen 27-year old Giorgi Kanashvili from Gurjaani since the May 26th protest disruption in front of the Parliament.

As Giorgi’s grandparents stated to Kakheti Information Center, their grandchild left home on May 19th to participate in Tbilisi protest rallies.

According to Giorgi’s neighbors, they cannot contact him through phone and he has not contacted them since May 26th either. Giorgi Kanashvili’s family members and neighbors assume that he disappeared after the protest disruption but they have not addressed the police. Giorgi’s grandparents are sick and cannot move independently.

Giorgi Kanashvili has not been mentioned in the list of the detainees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
