General Pukach Admits Murder of Journalist Ghonghadze

The former general of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Ukraina Aleksey Pukach admitted murder of journalist Giorgi Ghonghadze.

According to Newsland, General admitted that he killed journalist from his own hands. However, he denied the information about conducting surveillance. According to Valentina Telichenko, Ghonghadze’s widow, Pukach acknowledged guilt in the destruction of documents related to the surveillance of journalist in 2003.

Aleksey Pukach’s trial which started in Kiev on August 31st is closed. The journalists are not allowed to enter the courtroom.

Journalist Giorgi Ghonghadze was killed in 2000.
