Vedzatkhevi Primary School Moved From Hut

September 22, 2011

Primary School of Vedzatkhevi village in Dusheti district was moved from the hut after the Information Center of Mtkheta-Mtianeti prepared a photo-reportage about it.

Head of Dusheti district educational resource center Tina Bantsuri informed the ICMM that the primary school – functioning as a class-complex of Kvalili village public school, was moved to the ground floor of the double-storied house.

“School equipment was already assigned to them – desks, notebooks and books. At the moment, three pupils study there – in the second, third and fourth grades. There is only one teacher in the school and we try to keep him there. There is a problem of foreign language teacher. I asked the director of the neighboring Arguni public school to arrange the time-table so that to enable their foreign language teacher to give lessons in Vedzatkhevi too,” Bantsuri added.

Primary school of Vedzatkhevi village in Dusheti district is located in a hut. The hut is made of twig and clay. Rubber pieces are stretched on the walls to cover holes in it. There is a blackboard, a desk, four chairs, teacher’s table and oven in the “classroom”. All three pupils of the school are from socially disabled family; though they have not received school text-books from the state program yet.
