Workers Refused to Finish Rehabilitation of Nato Vachnadze’s Museum

October 12, 2011

The workers rehabilitating Nato Vachnadze’s museum are not paid salaries. As a result, the workers refused to finish the rehabilitation activities in protest.

The workers told the ICK that director of the TbilSatbobMsheni Ltd Tamaz Giorgadze does not pay three-month-salary to them. They said the workers rehabilitating the school in Dumasturi village in Pankisi Valley have not received their salaries from the Ltd either.

The TbilSatbobMsheni Ltd is rehabilitating the drinking-water system in Chalaubani village in Gurjaani district. The workers said they have not received salaries either.

“He paid salaries twice three months ago. He paid the salaries in cash. We did not sign any contracts. Now he claims he has paid our salaries but we have not received anything; he might have signed the documents instead us. When we requested him to pay money, he cursed and sued us at the police saying we are swindlers,’ said people working on the rehabilitation of Nato Vachnadze’s Museum.

Tamaz Giorgadze categorically denies workers’ accusation. He said he does not have any salary arrears before the workers. He said he had hired the workers for single-term and did not need to sign any documents with them.
