Ivanishvili’s Lawyer To Draft Suit VS President Saakashvili

October 18, 2011

A suit will be filed against President Mikheil Saakashvili to the court in near future.
Businessman Bidzina Ivanishvili’s lawyer Eka Beselia stated about it today.

Leaving Ivanishvili’s residence, Eka Beselia told journalists that she would draft a suit on striping of the citizenship from Ivanishvili and his spouse Ekaterine Khvedelidze.

“We do not trust the Georgian court so we intend to involve European institutions in the process. We have planned several important events regarding the issue. As for the suit, it will be filed to the court in near future. We request Mikheil Saakashvili to annul the act on abolishment Ivanishvili and his wife’s citizenships,” said Beselia.

She also said that today they started procedures to give up Russian citizenship; we need to draft several documents regarding the procedures and it will finish in several days.

As for establishment of Ivanishvili’s political party, Beselia said “it is still being discussed but they attend to most urgent problems on their agenda first.”
