October 28, 2011

Police officers of Abkhazia ruthlessly beat Georgian prisoner Malkhaz Okujava in Drandi Prison.

Residents of Gali district reported to the Georgian news agency Pirveli that Okujava was beaten because of his former profession.

“Before the war Okujava was a police officer; afterwards he worked as a driver on Gali-Nabakevi rout mini-bus; Now he is in Sokhumi hospital”, the source reported to the news agency.

Gali district police officers detained Okujava two months ago and placed him in Drandi prison without imposing pre-trial imprisonment on him.
