Who Was Digging Jaba Ioseliani’s Grave – Confession from Berlin

January 17, 2012

Video confession of the organizer and implementer of vandal act was spread in the internet; the person confessed he dug Jaba Ioseliani’s grave.

Citizen of Georgia, currently living in Berlin Mikheil Japaridze is speaking about his motives and reasons.

According to him, he aimed to wake the society up and not to remove Jaba Ioseliani’s corps from the grave. He is ready to make testimony with the police and be punished under the law.

Strangers tried to remove Jaba Ioseliani’s corps from the grave in Didube Pantheon on January 6, 2012. The stranger left photos of the so-called Tbilisi Civil War and a spade on the grave.

On January 6 the pantheon was closed. But the incident was confirmed by Badri Kutateladze, the director of the Pantheon told the Palitra.tv.

He said he had already reported to the patrol police officers and was waiting for them. Meanwhile the director did not allow journalists into the area.

The director clarified that “ground was dug near Jaba Ioseliani’s grave and strange photos were spread on it.”

On that day, palitra.tv’s journalist was reporting that relatives of Jaba Ioseliani were at the cemetery.

One of them tried to interfere in the journalists’ professional activities and locked the pantheon. But the director protested his behavior. They even had an argument. Jaba Ioseliani’s relative prohibited the director to speak with journalists.
