January 23, 2012

In the framework of the project implemented by the Organization for the Support of Free Media (aim of the project is to promote Tbilisi resident’s availability to independent print media), 25 press-distribution hand-carts move around the capital by now.

The Organization designed the hand-carts in the framework of the project. It is one of the innovations which the Organization offered to the society.

The sellers of the print media, who work with the hand-carts, wear uniforms and caps with the slogan “I Love Free Press”. The uniforms were also specially designed by the Organization for the Support of Free Print Media. It is noteworthy that the organization gave the uniforms to about 60 newspaper sellers for free.

“We intend to distribute newspapers in the districts close to Tbilisi too; so we intend to hire about 200 sellers,” executive director of the organization Lekso Jikia said and added “interested people can apply to us immediately.”

According to the organization’s announcement, the newspaper sellers will have a salary of 500 GEL per month (fixed 300 GEL plus percentage from the sold newspapers). The preference will be given to people with the age from 20 to 55. For additional information, interested people can call: 298 40 39, 599 79 34 25.
