Kakhi Gvianiashvili Accused of Bribery Released under Bail

Kakhi Gviniashvili, head of Economy and Infrastructure Development Service of the Signagi District Administration, who was blamed in accepting particularly large amount of bribe by the prosecutor’s office, was released from the court room under 10 000 GEL bail.

“Kakhi Gviniahsivli is sick. He has symptoms of heart attack; his health conditions might worsen. So, I solicit for changing his imprisonment into imposing a bail,” said the attorney.

The prosecutor of the Kakheti Regional Prosecutor’s Office Ilia Jangulashvili also agreed with the solicitation. According to him, the witnesses were already questioned and Gviniashvili’s freedom cannot hinder the investigation process.

The judge change the preventive measure into 10 000 GEL bail and released the accused from the court room. Gviniashvili shall pay the bail within three days.
