Group of Lawyers of the Georgian Dream Has Lodged about 15 Suits to the Court

February 23, 2012

Group of lawyers of the Businessman Bidzina Ivanishvili and Georgian Dream have already lodged about 15 suits to the Georgian court.

A member of the initiative group of the Georgian Dream-Democratic Georgia lawyer Zakaria Kutsnashvili told the Pirveli about it.

“Three of the lodged suits are about the citizenship. In one suit we appealed the judgment of the Civil Court on the suspension of Ivanishvili’s citizenship; the second was administrative suit against the Civic Registration Agency which had to issue the conclusion on naturalization of Bidzina Ivanishvili; the third suit was brought on February 16, where we requested compensation of non-material damage of Eka Khvedelidze caused by the stripped off citizenship. Additionally, we filed an administrative suit of the Georgian Dream where we protested the decision of the Financial Monitoring Department of the Chamber of Control to declare the Georgian Dream as their target unit. As for the central office of the Georgian Dream, about eight suits were lodged at the court with regard to this issue. Lawyers Archil Kbilashvili and Eka Beselia work on those suits,” Kutsnashvili said.

According to him, the group of lawyers has already won three trials.

“Based on our suit Georgian Citizenship of Ekaterine Khvedelidze was restored; the sequestered money was recovered to the Cartu Bank; we succeeded in the registration of the television license. We still work on the Georgian citizenship of Bidzina Ivanishvili and release-exploitation of the Georgian Dream’s central office, which is occupied by strangers; we also want to abolish the status of monitoring target of the Georgian Dream. I would like to underline that we will win all those cases too like we did in other three cases. The CRA cannot release the conclusion because they do not have grounds to include in their conclusion and justify it by the law. Bidzina Ivanishvili is neither terrorist, nor the sought by international police. So, he must receive Georgian citizenship,” Kutsnashvili said.
