City Government to Have Increased Competences with Regard to Privatization

The Tbilisi City Government will have their competences increased with regard to privatization of properties located in Tbilisi. The amendments are drafted for the Law about the Capital of Georgia –Tbilisi.

According to the acting law, the City Government was in charge of privatization and management of the local property, as well as protection and care of the property.

According to the draft-law, the city government will be authorized to estimate the starting privatization price of the property.

Besides that, the city government will be in charge to discuss issues related with liberation of a person, privatizing or accepting the property for exploitation, from the execution of financial and investment responsibilities.

The author and initiator of the draft-law is MP Vakhtang Balavadze.
