Georgian Dream’s Member Sacked from Job in Gurjaani

March 12, 2012

Zviad Kviralashvili, HQ member of the political coalition “Georgian Dream” in Gurjaani was sacked from job. He was deputy director of the Ltd “Ketilmotskoba” which was founded by the municipal board. His labor contract was due to expire on May 1, 2012.

“The labor contract was ceased based on the Article 37 – “c” of the Labor Code of Georgia,” the resolution states. This particular article is about violation of the labor agreements by one of the parties. The lawyers said the resolution was not correctly released because the labor contract was to be ceased based on the Article 37 –“d” of the Labor Code.

“On February 1, 2011 the Ltd “Ketilmotskoba” was established and I occupied the position of the deputy director to present. The Ltd was self-funded company. Meanwhile, the Ltd started to pay the VAT, employed 14 people and pays income tax to the local budget. On March 6, I organized the opening ceremony of the Georgian Dream’s office in Gurjaani and after that, on March 9, I found a resolution on my dismissal in the office. The order does not clarify the reasons of my dismissal. I would like to underline again that it is political terror implemented by the government against the people with different political views,” Zviad Kviralashvili said at the press-conference in the Gurjaani district office of the Georgian Dream. Only the journalist of the Information Center of Kakheti attended the press-conference.

The director of the Ltd Ketilmotskoba Parnaoz Beroshvili did not comment on the fact. Chair of the municipal board Zakaria Iaganashvili said although the Ltd was founded by the municipal board, the Ltd administration was independent in the human resource issues. “We can appoint and fire only the director of the Ltd,” Iaganashvili said.
