Information on State Order might be Classified As Top Secret

Information on state order might be classified as top secret; - amendment is proposed to the Law on State Secret.

According to the legislation, following information belongs to state secret: A) “information of special significance” B) “almost secret” C) “secret” D) “for restricted use.”

“Information of special significance” is data the dissemination or loss of which would substantially impact Georgia’s interests in the spheres of defense, state security, economics and politics or would cause particularly heavy outcome for the countries participant of international agreements or organizations.

According to the draft law, the data the dissemination or loss of which substantially impacts state order is added to this list. The same stipulation is added to other categories of state secret. The author of the draft law is Security Council, President is an initiator.
