Ilia II Asks Diplomatic Community for Help at Upcoming Elections

Catholicos-Patriarch of Georgia, Ilia II asked diplomatic community for help at upcoming election period.

Patriarch addressed ambassadors at a meeting on March 23rd dedicated to 95th anniversary of restoration of autonomy of Georgian Orthodox Church.

“I will be happy if you come often. We have a hard period, the elections are ahead. We ask for help,” – His holiness addressed the ambassadors.

At the end of the meeting, Patriarch played his performance Agnus Dei for the guests and thanked once again for visit.

US ambassador John Bass and his wife, representatives of Czech Republic, Germany, Holland, Israel, Latvia, Japan, UN, Council of Europe and European Commission, ambassadors of Greece and spiritual representatives of Catholic Church attended the meeting.

Diplomats left the Patriarchate without comment.
