Mamuka Baliashvili Alleges Activists of the Georgian Dream Beaten in Kutaisi

April 4, 2012

Mamuka Baliashvili, chair of the Youth Branch of the political party Salome Zurabishvili-Georgia’s Way reported that activists of the Georgian Dream were beaten in Kutaisi.

“Activists of the Georgian Dream were distributing newspapers at the White Bridge in Kutaisi, when suddenly about 15 employees of the district administration attacked them. They physically and verbally assaulted the activities, seized the newspapers and threw them in the river. It is noteworthy that activists did not resist them and warned the harassers that they were breaching the law,” Baliashvili said.

He added that although people called the patrol police several times, the law enforcement officers did not arrive at the scene of incident.
