Family of Military Servant Killed during 2008 August War to Abdicate A Flat Granted by the State

April 23, 2012

The family of soldier Giorgi Tatuashvili killed during the armed conflict in 2008 abdicates the flat which was granted to them by the state. Bidzina Ivanishvili introduced the mother of the late soldier Darejan Patashuri to the journalists at the press-conference in the Georgian Dream’s office and blamed the government in her persecution.

“Ms. Darejan became supporter of the Georgian Dream in March 2012. Because of different opinion the government intimidates her and her family. Her underage children have been persecuted for what they are sheltering the friend’s home. We video-recorded three police cars patrolling the flat and waiting for the children to leave the house. We sent reporters there and soon you will see the video-material of it,” Bidzina Ivanishvili said.

Darejan Patashuri said military police officers took her underage son by car and returned him back after a while.

“This particular case convinced me that I must keep silence and behave properly. Additionally, they might seize the flat from me which they granted me in exchange of Giorgi’s death. I would like to declare now that I have agreed with my younger son to leave the flat,” Darejan Patashuri.

She clarified that three weeks ago the state assigned a flat in recently constructed military settlement in Varketili district, Tbilisi.
