Bidzina Ivanishvili not to Pay Imposed Fine

June 13, 2012

Leader of the coalition Georgian Dream Bidzina Ivanishvili is not going to pay the fines imposed by the Tbilisi City Court. “Of course, I am not going to pay the fine because it is already absurd. You should see the audio-recordings of the conversations between the judge and lawyers. It is most interesting. The Court acts at the same level as RealTV, Rustavi 2, Imedi and Public Broadcaster. The Court representatives rumor in the same way as the abovementioned TV-stations,” Ivanishvili told newspaper Guria News.

He said the judiciary system even uses terminology of the TV-Companies. “When lawyers ask them to show links between any organization and Ivanishvili, the judge replies: everybody knows it! What does it mean? Does not it mean anything that different laws work for physical and legal entities?! They estimate links based on rumors spread by Saakashvili’s TV-stations whose terminologies are now used in the courts. The judge does not think it is his obligation to make legal clarification to the lawyer. They explain it simply, saying ‘everybody knows that he is his brother and he cooperated with this company in the past.’ This absurd has exceeded all limits,” Ivanishvili said.

Guria News asked what will happen if he does not pay imposed fines and Ivanishvili replied the government should answer that question: “we should ask this question to the government, what their next steps are. I want to calm down Georgian population and promise that everything will be fine. These people are in agony and do everything to turn the process back. They are in absolute hysteria. More precisely, one person is in hysteria and he is fully aware that everything is going towards the finish, logic finish. So, he wants to oppose us but everything will be all right; everything will develop logically and one man will not be able to stop Georgian population,” leader of the Georgian Dream said.

Two days ago Tbilisi City Court fined leader of the Georgian Dream Bidzina Ivanishvili initially with 148 650 131 lari in total. The judgment was passed based on two administrative lawsuits of the Chamber of Control.

According to the Chamber of Control, Bidzina Ivanishvili, with the resource of Global Consulting Group, distributed ten thousands of satellite dish antennas for the election purpose and it was detected by the financial monitoring service of the CoC.

According to the CoC, Bidzina Ivanishvili donated 12 622 000 lari and the court fined the leader of the Georgian Dream with ten folds of the sum.

In the second case, CoC accused Ivanishvili of renting 239 vehicles to Georgian Dream with the resources of Companies Burji and Elita Burji.
