Three Drivers Sacked for Listening Radio in Mini-Bus

Three drivers sacked from job for having listened to radio in mini-buses. Controller of one of the mini-bus routes in the capital told Interpresnews about it; however he refrained from publishing his name.

He said several drivers selfishly mended cut off wires of the radio-sets in the mini-buses and restored radio-broadcasting. When they returned to garage, disobedient drivers were sacked. According to the controller, head of several mini-bus routes just rebuked disobedient drivers at the first stage.

Voice signals on radio-devices were switched off in min-buses. Company Tbilisi Mini-Bus clarified that companies, which transport passengers in Tbilisi by new yellow mini-buses, have signed contracts with independent legal entities for advertising service. According to those contracts, advertising company is authorized to ensure placement of outside ads on the minibuses and installment of ad-monitors inside the vehicles to release voiced advertisements.

“According to the same contract, license-owner transport companies shall ensure high-quality and voice of the ads in mini-buses,” the Company representatives said and added that monitors are already being installed in vehicles.

“As we found out radio-stations muffled voice of the advertisements. In order to resolve this problem advertising company petitioned to the companies owning mini-buses and requested to fully implement their responsibilities to advertising companies and to release ads on monitors without delay. Tbilisi Mikroavtobusi Ltd decided to switch off radio signals from mini-buses,” Tbilisi Mikroavtobusi representatives said.
