Journalist Saba Tsitikashvili Is Placed in Hospital after Being Beaten in Karaleti Village

Head of Information Center of Shida Kartli Saba Tsitsikiashvili was beaten in Karaleti village in Gori district while performing his professional duties. Karaleti village attorney physically abused the journalist and Saba Tsitikashvili was taken to Gori hospital.

As victimized journalist told Information Center of Kakheti, activists of Georgian Dream had meeting with their supporters in Karaleti. Employees of the village administration and people affiliated with Badri Basishvili tried to fail the meeting and physically assaulted journalists too.

Investigation was not launched on the incident yet.

On July 12 there was incident between representatives of Georgian Dream and local population in Karaleti village in Gori district.

Interpresnews’ correspondent reported from Karaleti that Khaki Kaladze , George Volski, Sozar Subari and other representatives of the Georgian Dream arrived in the village to met IDPs. George Kharkarashvili was also in village. Group of people verbally insulted activists of the Georgia Dream and it turned into physical controversy.

The abovementioned group threw stones at Georgian Dream’ activists and several people were injured. They were very aggressive towards journalists. Some other journalists were also damaged besides Saba Tsitsikashvili.
