Kidnapped Girl’s Parents in Kabali Want Their Daughter Back

July 18, 2012

A ninth grade student was kidnapped in the village Kabali in the district of Lagodekhi. The girl’s parents want her back as quickly as possible. As they had informed Khaketi Information Centre for help and asked police but all was in vain.

“She was kidnapped for marriage; we weren’t at home when this happened. The boy is also from our village but we don’t want our daughter to become his wife. He previously had one wife whom he dismissed from his house.  We have been to the police but even after several hours they don’t give attention to us, “– said the girl’s parents.

Police officers of Apheni, in the Lagodekhi district, explained that the parents of girl are arguing with them because they want money or goods from the boy’s family. They have a rule that when you bring a woman to your house you have to pay money or goods to girl’s family. – told by the police.

The girl’s parents are blaming the police for inattentiveness.  They said that ethnically Azerbaijani people have this tradition but they want their daughter back instead of any profit.
