Employees of Batumi City Hall Destroyed Selected Concert Posters

August 30, 2012

On August 26, rapper Bera ivanishvili, son of the Georgian Dream leader Bidzina Ivanishvili held a concert in Batumi.

Concert posters appeared in the city on the previous day, and at night it was torn down by City Hall employees. However, they did not touch other posters.

Bera concert posters are completely torn down from the fence of the Smart Supermarket in Tbel Abuseridze Street. However, several meters away from torn posters of the Ajara folk dance group Khorumi are still hanging on though they held concert in Batumi several months ago - on February 14.

Gela Makharadze head of Batumi City Hall administration said that employees cleaned the city: “They made the city colorful!  They should be grateful that we did not fine them. When poster is pasted on the façade of building it should be agreed not only with the building owner but with the City Hall. In this situation they did not have our permission so we took off those posters.

Makharadze could not remember if folk dance group Khorumi held similar permission.
