Two Members of Georgian Dream Taken to Tbilisi by Emergency Medical Center

October 1, 2012

On October 1, at about 06:00, Emergency Medical Center took two members of Georgian Dream to Tbilisi from Gurjaani medical center. ICK was told at Gurjaani medical center that the injured people had “minor scratches” on their bodies though Georgian Dream’s representative claims the opposite.

Kako Begashvili of the Georgian Dream’s Gurjaani Office said patrol police officers had beaten their party members Inga Beriashvili and Shota Jokhadze near Akhasheni village last night; they received bodily injuries as a result of the incident.

“Patrol police officers beat them while they were distributing badges for the Election Day among Georgian Dream’s representatives. About 30 assailants beat them with truncheons. They had arrived in more than 10 cars. Two members of Georgian Dream received initial medical aid at Gurjaani medical center and early in the morning an emergency brigade took them to Tbilisi,” Kako Begashvili clarified.
