Eliso Chapidze: “Tkibuli District Election Commission Chairman Was under Pressure”

October 3, 2012

The coalition Georgian Dream gained 1007 votes more in majoritarian elections in Tkibuli. Eliso Chapidze-the majoritarian candidate of the coalition Bidzina Ivanishvili-Georgian Dream in Tkibuli told Interpressnews.

Eiso Chapidze added the final protocl was being drawn up in Tkibuli DEC. After the protocol is signed she will be legalized as a winner.

Chapidze clarified that she received 7700 votes; her supporters were already celebrating their victory in Tkibuli streets.

Elisi Chapidze stated that her hundreds of her supporters were at the DEC building from the morning. They wanted to protect the election results.

As Chapidze added the chairman of DEC was under pressure. The commission did not summarize the data from polling stations and they did not want to sign the final protocol.

“The DEC was under horrible pressure. Police was controlling the place. Akaki Katamadze-the head of Tkibuli police was ordered to win the elections in Tkibuli. Our observers heard how he was crying hysterically:”What can I do with protocols.” Now, he has got the data of five polling stations where I got the most votes. More precisely election stations #5 and #8. It is noteworthy that I got most votes in the street where Pavle Kublashvili lives. 75% of the voters from Pavle Kublashvili’s native street are my supporters like in my native village where he thought he could bribe people,” Chapidze added.

As Chapidze alleged all methods of election falsification were used in Tkibuli on October 1.  Forgers intimidated the people, terrorized them and run into their houses. There was even a fact of beating near the polling station #8. As Chapidze added National Movement coordinators distributed money to people in the street near Shaori cinema; this fact is shot. They distributed money to population and bought their votes illegally.
