Kublashvili and Chapidze Congratulate Each Other On Being Elected Deputies

October 4, 2012

Eliso Chapidze will defend the interests of Tkibuli inhabitants in the new parliament of 2012. She defeated Pavle Kublashvili, the majoritarian candidate of National Movement, with 1050 votes.

It is interesting that National Movement celebrated victory before the final results were declared in Tkibuli. On October 2 at 1 am when results had been released from only three polling stations in the District Election Commission, Pavle Kublashvili had gained three more votes than Eliso Chapidze. These three votes were the reason for their untimely celebration.

On October 2 the coalition members and Eliso Chapidze herself were defending their votes at the DEC from the morning.  In the evening in turned out that Eliso Chapidze was the winner.

“At  5 p.m. Pavle Kublashvili rang me and congratulated me. I also congratulated him on becoming a Member of Parliament once again with the proportional list.  We detected many violations during the elections but it turned out that it is possible to win even in such an unequal struggle. I want to thank all the inhabitants of Tkibuli for their trust”, -Eliso Chapidze stated.

It is noteworthy that the coalition Georgian Dream had written applications for 156 activists to be observers in Tkibuli's 37 polling stations. Unfortunately, the Central Election Commission  granted none of these requests.
