President Raised Salaries for Regional Public Officials

President of Georgia raised salaries of the chairmen of municipal boards, district governors, their deputies and other personnel of self-governmental bodies.

In accordance to the amendments, salary of the chairman of municipal board and district governors increased from 2 360 lari to 2 650 lari. The salaries of the deputy municipal board chairmen and district governors increased from 900 lari to 1 500 lari.

Heads of service departments, heads of municipal board’s offices and attorneys of territorial entities will receive 1 290 lari; before they received 700 lari. Salaries of the chairmen of commissions of the municipal boards and chairmen of fractions increased from 650 lari to 1050 lari. Junior officials of self-governmental bodies will receive 560 lari instead 420 lari.

Amendments about “salaries of the public servants of the government of autonomous republics and local self-governmental bodies” were already introduced into the President’s Decree # 726 of August 29, 2005.
