Member of Batumi City Council Dissociated CDM

October 15, 2012

Member of Batumi City Council from Christian Democrat Movement Vazha Verulidze held briefing on October 12. He said he had made the decision one and half month ago but due to moral ethic he did not announce it before elections.

Vazha Verulidze, member of Batumi City Council:  “Whilst I am not member of the political party which I represent in the city council, I decided to dissociate from them. My decision is not connected with recent parliamentary elections in Georgia and its results [CDM could not overcome 5% barrier to enter parliament]. The basis of my decision was recent events in the party’s administration and its analysis.”

Verulidze did not concretize what he disliked in the decisions of the political party. At this moment, he is independent member of the Batumi City Council. However, he does not exclude possibility of cooperating with any political party if he is offered to.
