Companies Linked with Kibar Khalvashi Will Appeal to the Court to Gain Their Properties Back

Companies linked with Kibar Khalvashi – Arti, Priza, International Building Company and Livo Group - will appeal to the court and request return of their properties. 

Khalvashi’s representatives told Interprensews that after new legislation is worked out, which will ensure return of seized property, they will appeal the court.

“Companies linked with Kibar Khalvashi – Arti, Priza, International Building Company, Livo Group – continue struggle through legal ways. At this stage the applications of those companies are pending before the European Court of Human Rights. However, final judgments were not passed yet. Criminal process against Kibar Khalvashi and his partners were not finished either though they were launched in 2007. October 1 parliamentary elections created a new reality in the country when it will be possible to revise politically motivated arbitrary judgments. Based on those illegal judgments, properties were seized from successful [Georgian] companies and were not allowed to continue business. Leaders of the newly elected parliamentary majority state that in near future they will work out legislative base which will create possibility to return illegally seized properties. The aforementioned companies will appeal to law enforcement bodies as soon as relevant laws are adopted and they will request return of illegally seized properties,” Khalvashi’s representatives said.

Companies of Kibar Khalvashi and his partners petitioned to the enterprises and governmental institutions, whom the properties of aforementioned companies were assigned and requested to support restitution of justice.

Kibar Khalvashi and his partners also plan to petition to the Chief Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia where they describe activities of concrete senior governmental officials against their companies in detail and provide relevant evidence of their allegations too.
