Khoni District Court Declined Lawsuit of the Fair Elections

October 19, 2012

Master Judge at the Khoni district court did not satisfy the lawsuit of the nongovernmental organization International Society for Fair Elections and Democracy.

The lawsuit was about violation observed in PS # 2 in Khoni DEC 55. Namely, husband of the PEC chairwoman Khatuna Bakhtadze – Paata Kakabadze, who is cousin of the National Movement’s member Kako Bobokhidze, agitated in favor of Davit Chichinadze at the PS; the latter was majoritarian candidate of the UNM.

“I requested the PEC chairwoman to stop polling process several times but in vain. Afterwards, I wrote a complaint. DEC did not satisfy my complaint. Then I petitioned to the court which also declined my suit,” said Davit Gordadze, representative of ISFED in Khoni.
