Businesswoman Nazi Alasania Claims Her Life is In Danger

October 19, 2012

Businesswoman Nazi Alasania claims that her life is in danger. She said at the press-conference on October 19 that five minutes earlier she received threatening phone calls and was demanded to cancel the press-conference.

Businesswoman clarified her intimidation started after Bidzina Ivanishvili met Georgian businessmen where she spoke about oppression on small and medium business.

“During our meeting with Bidzina Ivanishvili I expressed my opinion that small and medium business is being oppressed. After that I have been receiving threatening phone calls; certain people blackmail me. People, who compelled me to leave my share in business for 1 lari are particularly active in intimidating me,” Alasania said.

She added that she was owner of 45% share and executive director of Fast Plus since 1994; on August 27 of 2012 she had to give her share out for 1 lari as a result of oppression. Alasania did not name concrete people who became owners of her property but they are close to the government and they still continue her intimidation.

The businesswoman intends to appeal to the court in several days and claim her share in the business.
