Penitentiary Ministry’s Hotline to Work in 24 Hours Regime

Hotline will work 24 hours a day at the Ministry of Corrections and Legal Aid of Georgia. Deputy Minister Giga Giorgadze stated about it at the special briefing on October 30.

Giorgadze said hotline 577 22 29 46 will work 24 hours. On working days citizens can call landline number 2 25 70 47 from 10:00 am to 18:00 pm.

The deputy minister added that family members and relatives of prisoners can call these numbers and inform the ministry about violation of prisoners’ rights or any other fact.

Permanent commission will start activities on October 30 and will study cases of conditional sentences. According to the deputy minister, there are more than 40 000 probationers in the country and those, who do not need particular control, will be discharged from conditional sentence.
