Prisoner Dided in Kutaisi Prison # 2

November 9, 2012

In the morning of November 6, a prisoner died of heart attack in Kutaisi prison # 2. Bagdati resident, Aleksandre Biliseishvili, 55, was taken to corresponding institution where his body was examined.

Reportedly, Aleksandre Bilseishvili is one of those prisoners, who were on hunger-strike due to poor conditions in the custody. Member of the Prison Public Monitoring Group and editor-in-chief of the newspaper Akhali Gazeti Ia Bobokhidze denied the information.

“No, this prisoner was not on hunger-strike. Prison director Davit Vashakidze told me the prisoner had heart attack. They provided him with medical service but unfortunately doctors could not save him,” Ia Bobokhidze told humanrights.ge.
