Administration of the Caucasus Online Was Demanded to Install Special Apparatus in Fibrous Network

November 12, 2012

Administration of the Caucasus Online was demanded to install special apparatus in fibrous network so that they would be able to control and copy emails and online information of subscribers.

It was stated at the press-conference in the office of online edition for.ge where former founder of the Caucasus Online Mamia Sanadirdze spoke about necessity of investigation of forcible transition of the company and punishment of perpetrators.

Mamia Sanadirdze noted that he was compelled to assign 50% share of the company he had founded in 2000 to GMC Group in March of 2010. He owned 80% share in the company. Sanadiradze said he had been permanently oppressed and fined from September to December of 2009. Namely, the company was fined with 660 000 lari four times. Sanadirdze was also accused of cheap sale of internet and obliged him to pay 11 million lari to state budget; the Tax Department verbally threatened him with this fine.

Sanadiradze said after he assigned 50% to GMC Group, oppression against the company stopped.

Sanadiradze did not speak about details of agreement saying it is commercial secret. He said he hold documents to prove how employees of municipal board’s supervision service and criminals were cutting their fibrous cables. They used to inform patrol police about it but police did not respond to the violation facts.

He added that oppression on the company started in spring of 2009 when MIA representative Boria Matichashvili came to their office and requested to install special apparatus in fibrous network to control and copy emails and online information of their subscribers. When the company administration refused them, the government started oppression on them.

Former owner of the Caucasus Online will soon appeal to prosecutor’s office and MIA after new senior officials come in the office and he will request them to launch criminal case and investigation into organized crime, to punish perpetrators who destroyed the company and forcibly assigned it to another owner.
