30 000 lari Spent on the Construction of a Public Toilet in Lagodekhi

November 15, 2012

Local budget spent 30 000 lari on the construction of a public toilet in Lagodekhi. It was placed in the town center in 26 Maisi Street between the buildings of district administration and district court. Its construction and equipment has finished but district administration has not received the report about finished project yet. However, people already use the toilet in the town. Radio Hereti’s journalist visited the facility to check the situation inside and said taps are not working there; cabins and sinks are dirty.

Company RTG Ltd, which won the bid competition, constructed the toilet. In total 29.086 lari was spent on its construction. Company representatives are no longer in Lagodekhi. Radio Hereti managed to estimate only their legal address; it is Zazishvili street # 1, Tbilisi.

It is unknown whether district administration will accept the facility whose construction cost almost 30 000 lari and where inside infrastructure is demolished. Hereti tried to find out the situation at the district administration; their official letter states that “facility construction has finished but at this moment district administration is waiting for the expertise conclusion after what we will accept it.”

Hereti also inquired which service office will control the cleaning of the toilet. District governor Dimitry Loladze wrote in his official letter that “legal entity, which will take part and win 2013 competition on taking care of parks and squares in the town will also be responsible to look after the public toilet.”

Besides that, Dimitry Loladze said: “Sum allocated for the construction of public toilet was not large and it is not fair to allege that it was expensive project.”
