Dzidziguri Mine Will No Longer Close in Tkibuli

December 7, 2012

On December 7, workers of Tkibuli Dzidziguri Mine learned that the mine will no longer be closed. 12-member commission, set up based on the decree of the Ministry of Economy, worked on this issue during ten days. They studied current situation in Tkibuli Mine in details.

Based on the commission’s conclusion fifteenth field of Dzidziguri Mine shall be closed because of current situation there; the seventeenth field is not dangerous for workers. Moreover, the conclusion reads that field activities can be conducted in this section.

Deputy Director General of Saknakhshiri Ltd Valeri Kukhlashvili said “only fifteenth field shall be closed where we cannot ensure safety of workers. Some activities shall take place on the seventeenth field; we received relevant instructions and will start working on them in near future. At this moment, no drilling or explosive activities are going on in the field.”

Security service of the Ltd will presumably start working on the remarks from December 10.
