Residents of Itkhvisi Village Demand Georgian Manganese to Repair Road

December 21, 2012

Several days ago, residents of Itkhvisi village in Chiatura district blocked way for the vehicles of the Company Georgian Manganese. The locals claim frequent movement of loaded trucks damaged the village road and people cannot even walk in the street.

They have been demanding the company administration to repair the damaged road for several months. Itkhvisi village attorney Davit Mortsadze said the road was damaged because the ropeway stopped working in the village.

Director of the Pataridze Mine Nugzar Jokhadze met the villagers when they blocked the road and said their protest was fair and promised the Company would start reparation of the road in near future.
