Vani District Governor Arrested

December 27, 2012
On December 27, former chairman of Vani municipal board Davit Kakabadze was arrested. MIA spread video of his detention.

“It was established by the investigation that Kakabadze has instigated employees of municipality, acting chairman and head of the apparatus of the same service in making the forged documentation. As a result of the order which was forged by the mentioned persons Toyota vehicle of high performance was handed over to the bureau of single mandate deputy.  Document which was dated with November 5 was actually issued on December 20 of the current year,” the MIA statement read.

Davit Kakabadze was dismissed from Chairmanship on December 9. Law enforcers have already interrogated all individuals involved in the case. Regarding the case an investigation was launched under the article 24-341 (Falsification in service, i.e. entering false data or record into an official document or register) of the Criminal Code. The committed crime envisages from 2 to 4 years of imprisonment.
