Terjola Population Request Change of Local Government

January 21, 2013

On January 20, an assembly was held in the center of Terjola with the request to change the local government. About hundred participants of the assembly requested the new government to respond to their request.

“Nothing has changed in Terjola district for 20 years. We hoped the Georgian Dream would do something for us. This district has neither governor nor chairman of the municipal board; people do not feel that they are working here because nothing has been done here for many years already,” said the protesters.

Chairman of the Terjola municipal board Tariel Panchulidze is not going to resign because, as he said, only municipal board can make decision on his resignation and not assembly participants.
