Nika Lominadze’s Family Is Sure Gia Gvichiani Had Ordered the Murder

January 29, 2013

Family of Nika Lominadze, late financial manager of Telasi (Tbilisi electricity distribution company), who was murdered in 2002, is sure that Gia Gvichiani had ordered the murder. Nika Lominadze’s father Nodar Lominadze told Interpresnews about it.

He added that Gvichiani and two more people – Tskhvaradze and Dolidze had personal problems with Nika Lominadze after he became financial director of the company and exposed financial machinations there.

“When Nika occupied the position of the financial director, he revealed unreasonable financial transfers. Afterwards, he became target of assault from Tskhvaradze, Dolidze and Gvichiani. I am sure Gvichiani had ordered this murder and Chemia and Kherkeladze killed him,” Nodar Lominadze said.

Besides, Nodar Lominadze said Gia Gvichiani’s case was renewed because of his lawyers. “Gvichiani had a lot of lawyers whom he still pays money. They claim there is no evidence against him,” Nodar Lominadze said.

New investigation will be launched into the murder of Nika Lominadze, manager of Telasi, due to recently discovered new circumstances in the case. Head of department at the Chief Prosecutor’s Office Davit Nikolaishvili said at the press-conference that conclusions of the expertise conducted in the US are not enclosed to case materials that make the verdict suspicious. In order to estimate the truth, prosecutor’s office intends to launch investigation into the alleged abuse of power.

Gia Gvichiani, Nodar Gvichiani, Nika Chemia, Avtandil Kherkeladze and Giorgi Papachashvili were convicted for the murder of Nika Lominadze. Plea-agreement was signed with the convicted people except Gia Gvichiani and Nika Chemia. They are sentenced to life imprisonment.
