Newspaper “Guriis Moambe” reported that Ozurgeti district interim governor Kote Sharashenidze and member of the Coalition Georgian Dream Nestor Ramishvili physically assaulted each other.
According to the Guriis Moambe, the incident occurred in front of Ramishvili’s house.
Nestor Ramishvili of the Georgian Dream denies information and claims that the spread information is not true.
Interim district governor Kote Sharashinedze also categorically denied the information.
“It really did not happen. It might be next provocation against me,” said Sharashenidze.
Head of Guria Region Main Department of MIA Zaza Petriashvili said they had not received any official notice about the incident. Despite that, according to the information spread by Guriis Moambe, disagreement between Sharashenidze and Ramishvili turned into shooting and physical assault.
Guriis Moambe wrote that Kote Sharashenidze dropped at Nestor Ramishvili’s home by his service car; the latter had been asking the district governor to employ at the district administration. Ramishvili beat Sharashenidze in the car; the district governor managed to escape him and then broke his rival’s head by firearm; he shot in the air and left the scene of incident. Afterwards, criminal case under Article 112 Part I of the Criminal Code of Georgia (premeditated grave damage of the body) was launched against district interim governor Kote Sharashenidze.
However, as we found out, the criminal case on the incident between Sharashenidze and Ramishvili was dropped.
Chairwoman of the political coalition Georgian Dream – Democratic Georgia Manana Kobakhidze said in her interview with GPB that political council of the Coalition would discuss Kote Sharashenidze’s case. They had heard his clarifications about the incident but the party had not taken any disciplinary measures against him. Besides, Kobakhidze does not agree with information about launched criminal case but representatives of the MIA’s Guria regional department said the case was not dropped and investigation is going on.
