February 4, 2013

On February 4, representatives of the nongovernmental organizations Center for the Protection of Public Interests organized a theater performance in front of the Kutaisi self-governmental building. Young people granted first place to the chairman of the Kutaisi City Council Amiran Khvadagiani in the competition of chair-lovers and assigned symbolic “award” to him.

“Khvadagiani shall realize that chair and authority is not permanent. Everything shall finish including working on high positions,” said Gizo Bandzeladze, representative of the Center.

NGO members state many representatives of the National Movement and Khvadagiani will have to quit positions. “The city, as well as entire country, shall be ruled by the elected people,” representatives of the Center state. They opened a “star” of the chairman of the City Council in front of the local self-government’s office.

Mamuka Mgvdeladze, chairman of the oppositionist fraction Kutaisi at the city council also joined the demonstration.
